From the Point of Human Origins to the elephants of Addo, this adventure brings you the best of what the Garden Route has to offer in a full five day package.
Day 1:
Cape Town to Sedgefield via Mossel Bay
On our first day we leave Cape Town and head out to the coastal town of Mossel Bay. Here you can choose to have a guided tour of the Point of Human Origins, you’ll learn about the first people to walk these shores.
Alternatively, you can choose to glide 1100 metres over the ocean on the world’s longest over-ocean zipline.
Afterwards we’ll depart for Sedgefield to sleep over, where we’ll enjoy our first sunset along the Garden Route.
Day 2:
Sedgefield to Storms River Village
The route has loads of optional adventures including snorkelling with seals, jet ski rides, horse riding and more. Your guide will be happy to chat about any additional extras along the route.
One of the main attractions on this day is a Bloukrans Bungy jump. At 216m this is the world’s highest commercial bungy bridge (not for the fainthearted!)
Day 3: Storms River Village to Jeffrey’s Bay
We cross over into the Eastern Cape and the first stop is the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. We’ll get to walk across the suspension bridges along the way to the waterfall. Then the journey continues to the famous Surf town of Jeffrey’s Bay. Here you will have the opportunity to take a surf lesson, visit the world-renowned super tubes and shop at the ridiculously cheap surf store outlets in the town.
Day 4: Jeffrey’s Bay to Addo and Sedgefield
Get ready for an early departure as we head into Addo Elephant National Park for approximately 5 hours of Safari viewing from our vehicle. Guests also have the option to pay and join the park’s rangers on an open-air Safari.
The Park is the 3rd largest in South Africa and now houses more than 600 African Elephants. It is also the only park in the world which boasts as home to the BIG 7. Once leaving the park the tour heads back towards the seaside town of Sedgefield to spend the night.
Day 5: Sedgefield to Cape Town via Oudtshoorn
The final day of this tour heads over the majestic Outeniqua mountains and into the Klein Karoo. The Klein Karoo (Little Karoo) is situated between mountains to the south and north and borders the Garden Route and the Western Cape.
Visitors testify of the region’s distinctive food, the friendliness of its people and the mystique of the Klein Karoo’s landscape. The Klein Karoo stretches along Route 62 from Barrydale in the west to De Rust in the east.
Route 62 meanders between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn, the Garden Route and Port Elizabeth.
Our stops will be Oudtshoorn for a working Ostrich farm and the Cango Caves. Along the way we will stop in the quirky town of Barrydale for lunch. The last stretch of the journey to Cape Town passes through the longest wine route in the world!
